A quick note before beginning the final look behind the scenes of the first collection- A massive thank you to all of you who are reading this and who have liked and commented, subscribed or interacted here or over on Instagram in any way.
I cannot tell you how much your support means-I never ever thought that strangers from all over the world would see my work or that I would have the guts to show it to you all or go any deeper than the poem itself, so a heartfelt thank you for sticking around.
“The Whispering Stream” was the only way to end the first collection. Nearly everything in the book had been coloured by the unexpected ending of a relationship ,but mostly,what happened after it.
The stream tells that story of the relationship itself in the only way I could. How the “soft giggle” of a “stream” became the “roaring” of a “river” in torrent. How we “tore” ourselves “in two”.
In revisiting the concluding piece now, what have I learned?. Thankfully the lessons I took from this period in my life were the following
- The only thing permanent is change
- “People are people”-you can’t change them
- You can however change who YOU are, (even your name) and how you see the world.
- Always put something back into the universal stream, you can’t just take and everyone has something to add to it.Raise consciousness.
